Services Provided: Adult Basic Education is a program for individuals 16 years of age or older who have withdrawn from school. It also serves adults who have graduated but still have a desire to upgrade their basic skills. Tuition is at no cost, and most learning supplies are provided.

The ABE program is designed to be "open entry", "open exit" which allows students to progress at their own pace and receive individual help. The program offers individual instruction in a lab setting. Classes focus on beginning reading, reading comprehension, spelling, English as a second language, Math and writing skills.

Eligibility: As a rule, the SRCLP Clinics accept preschool children who have difficulty speaking or understanding the spoken word or school-age children who have difficulty learning to read. Some centers also offer literacy training for adults.
Services Provided: A program to help children with speech and language disorders. Each facility is staffed by speech-language pathologists or other trained personnel. All services are available regardless of race, creed, or the family’s inability to pay.
