Financial Counseling

Description: Programs that help people who are having difficulty paying their monthly bills gain control of their finances. The process generally involves analysis of the individual's income, expenses, debts, taxes and other factors to create a personal financial assessment; development of a budget for basic living expenses; and agreement on a short-term plan for repayment of creditors which may include debt consolidation or other strategies and a longer term plan for realizing personal financial goals. Services Provided: The Center offers a comprehensive online Resource Directory for Southeast Idaho, a Resource Library, Asset Shop, comprehensive assessment and referral, The Nurturing Program for Families, The Baby Steps Program, The Birth to Three Playgroups, and Parent Support. This program is administered by the Bannock Youth Foundation, a private, non-profit organization that has been providing a variety of intervention, treatment, and support services to youth and families in Bannock County since 1978.

The Nurturing Parenting Program is an 12-15 week event designed for families with children between the ages of 0 and 18. Specific areas targeted include: Support for parents in their efforts to nurture adolescents.
Providing parents with effective discipline strategies appropriate for the child's age. Support and skill building for youth dealing with the stress of peer pressure. Increased respect for parents by their children.

Classes are available in the evenings from 5:30pm to 8pm. To sign up for the Nurturing Program, call Heather Kemp at (208) 234-1122.

This program is administered by the Bannock Youth Foundation, a private, non-profit organization that has been providing a variety of intervention, treatment, and support services to youth and families in Bannock County since 1978.
