Services Provided: The Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is a State of Idaho agency governed by the Idaho State Board of Education. The primary goal is employment. Vocational Rehabilitation provides individualized vocational guidance and counseling as well as other services to assist people with disabilities to make informed choices concerning their careers so that they can become successfully employed. IDVR works with individuals until they become employed and can maintain employment. IDVR Also works with employees with disabilities and their employers to maintain employment.

Individuals with Mental Illness:

VR works closely with The Department of Health and Welfare's Mental Health Program to provide services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Services are provided utilizing a team approach and are focused on assisting the mental health clientele to work in the community. Assertive Community Action (ACT) teams have been established around the State.

Students with Disabilities:

VR assists students with disabilities who require assistance with the transition from school to employment. VR maintains relationships with schools throughout the state to serve students needing assistance. Any student can apply directly for services. These individuals must meet the vocational rehabilitation eligibility criteria.

Public Offenders:

VR has taken a pro-active stance in assisting inmates with disabilities to transition into the community by developing a program to concentrate on these customers.

Any individual with a disability that prevents him/her from working may apply.
