Services Provided: The PICU team consists of critical care physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, social workers, Child Life specialists, and many others. They care for children of all ages—infant through adolescent—including children who have respiratory problems, such as pneumonia or asthma; are recovering from complex surgeries; are dependent on medical technology, such as ventilators; or are experiencing organ failure. The PICU also provides sedation services for children who require painful procedures.
