Health Statistics and Surveillance provides bio statistical research and analysis, manages population-based surveys as the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Tracking Survey (PRATS), and administers the Cancer Data Registry of Idaho (CDRI). Several reports and publications are produced and disseminated, including the Idaho Vital Statistics Annual Report.

Vital Records Management is responsible for the management of the VSADS computer data base and assurance of proper coding and data input that supports Vital Records Services and the generation of vital statistics. Field Operations addresses quality of records through computer training and the provision of technical assistance to system participants.

Free personal counseling will help pregnant mothers consider alternatives in problem pregnancies, regardless of religious beliefs. When necessary, appropriate services are provided to resolve family needs. This Program assesses, evaluates and determines reported incidents of child abuse, which may include an evaluation of family members and/or the abused child. Helps acquire counseling for victim, parents, abuser and other involved. There is no fee for child protective services.

The Regional Children and Family Services Program licenses foster homes and provides some adoption services.

The Regional Children and Family Services Program is administered by the Division of Family and Community Services.
