Kathleen Campbell is a pediatric resident at the University of Utah and a researcher training in Utah’s Stimulating Accesss to Research in Residency program. She received her undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology with an emphasis in neurobiology at the University of California, Berkeley. Before medical school, she worked as a research assistant on a longitudinal study of brain development in children with autism at the University of California, San Diego’s Autism Center of Excellence. During medical school at Duke University, she trained in clinical research in the Duke-NIH Clinical Research Training Program and received a Master’s in Health Science in addition to her MD. Inspired by her work with children with autism, much of her clinical training has been focused on early diagnosis of autism in primary care. Dr. Campbell’s research interests include brain development, autism spectrum disorder, and children with complex medical needs.
